Where it fits

Along the bottom of a rear window, a bumper, a tailgate or the top of a cargo door. Any hard, smooth surface takes a decal: glass, paint, metal, hard plastic. Read how to apply a vinyl decal before it goes on.

How it goes on

  1. Wash the spot with soapy water, dry it, then wipe it with rubbing alcohol.
  2. Tape the decal across its middle, step back and check it sits level.
  3. Peel one half of the backing, press from the tape outward with a card, then do the other half.
  4. Peel the top sheet back on itself, slowly and close to the surface.

About this design

A glare that follows the traffic

Narrowed, glaring eyes sit side by side, each built from one sweeping brow that hooks down into a curled lower lid. The inner corners point toward each other, which gives the frown, and a small fang of a pupil cuts into each eye. Every stroke is a broad, tapering solid, so the glare reads from a long way back.

Tinted rear glass is where the glare looks carved in. Run the pair across the top strip so the car seems to scowl at whoever follows too close. Made for a lowered car, a loud truck, or anyone who wants a little menace at a stoplight.

Before it goes on glass

Keep any decal off the windshield. On the rear window, California, Texas and Florida tie a decal to outside mirrors on both sides, New York bars stickers its DMV commissioner has not authorized, and your own state may differ, so read its vehicle code.
