Where it fits

Along the bottom of a rear window, a bumper, a tailgate or the top of a cargo door. Any hard, smooth surface takes a decal: glass, paint, metal, hard plastic. Read how to apply a vinyl decal before it goes on.

How it goes on

  1. Wash the spot with soapy water, dry it, then wipe it with rubbing alcohol.
  2. Tape the decal across its middle, step back and check it sits level.
  3. Peel one half of the backing, press from the tape outward with a card, then do the other half.
  4. Peel the top sheet back on itself, slowly and close to the surface.

About this design

A solid heart and gothic-flavored capitals

On one line, "I ♥ Vampires" pairs a plain serif I with a solid heart, then the word in tall capitals with flared, slightly curled ends. The R throws a long hooked tail below the line and the S curls at both ends. The heart is the boldest shape and reads first from far away. The flicks of the letters show up as you come closer.

Late-night horror fans and readers of old gothic tales, lay this along the lower edge of your back glass, just above the trim. The solid heart catches the eye first and the curled capitals follow. It says what you love plainly instead of hiding it.

Before it goes on glass

Keep any decal off the windshield. On the rear window, California, Texas and Florida tie a decal to outside mirrors on both sides, New York bars stickers its DMV commissioner has not authorized, and your own state may differ, so read its vehicle code.
