Where it fits

Along the bottom of a rear window, a bumper, a tailgate or the top of a cargo door. Any hard, smooth surface takes a decal: glass, paint, metal, hard plastic. Read how to apply a vinyl decal before it goes on.

How it goes on

  1. Wash the spot with soapy water, dry it, then wipe it with rubbing alcohol.
  2. Tape the decal across its middle, step back and check it sits level.
  3. Peel one half of the backing, press from the tape outward with a card, then do the other half.
  4. Peel the top sheet back on itself, slowly and close to the surface.

About this design

Two words in friendly hand-drawn capitals

Hand-drawn capitals spell "Team Aspie" on one line, each letter slightly uneven, with rounded ends, a little lean and soft open counters in the A and P. Nothing frames the words. The strokes are thick and even, so you can read the line from a car length or two back, and the loose hand shows as you come closer.

Lay it across the back of your laptop so it reads when the lid is open in class or at work. On the spectrum and proud of it, or standing with someone who is? Then the two words are yours.

Before it goes on glass

Keep any decal off the windshield. On the rear window, California, Texas and Florida tie a decal to outside mirrors on both sides, New York bars stickers its DMV commissioner has not authorized, and your own state may differ, so read its vehicle code.
