Where it fits

A laptop lid, a toolbox, a rear window corner or a gear case. Any hard, smooth surface takes a decal: glass, paint, metal, hard plastic. Read how to apply a vinyl decal before it goes on.

How it goes on

  1. Wash the spot with soapy water, dry it, then wipe it with rubbing alcohol.
  2. Tape the decal across its middle, step back and check it sits level.
  3. Peel one half of the backing, press from the tape outward with a card, then do the other half.
  4. Peel the top sheet back on itself, slowly and close to the surface.

About this design

One flowing capital, pen style

One capital "A" in flowing script: a heavy right stem that narrows to a point at the top, a thin left stroke that swoops down into a wide loop, and a long crossbar that pushes past both legs. The weight shifts from thick to hairline the way ink does under a pen. The letter reads clearly from across a room.

Middle of your laptop lid, nothing else around it: that is where one script A makes a machine on a crowded desk clearly yours. It works as a surname initial for the whole family, or as a first initial for you alone.

Before it goes on glass

Keep any decal off the windshield. On the rear window, California, Texas and Florida tie a decal to outside mirrors on both sides, New York bars stickers its DMV commissioner has not authorized, and your own state may differ, so read its vehicle code.
