Where it fits

A rear window corner, a toolbox lid, a cooler side or a laptop lid. Any hard, smooth surface takes a decal: glass, paint, metal, hard plastic. Read how to apply a vinyl decal before it goes on.

How it goes on

  1. Wash the spot with soapy water, dry it, then wipe it with rubbing alcohol.
  2. Tape the decal across its middle, step back and check it sits level.
  3. Peel one half of the backing, press from the tape outward with a card, then do the other half.
  4. Peel the top sheet back on itself, slowly and close to the surface.

About this design

Deer, bird, trout and two crossed tools

"Sportsman" runs across the top in heavy block capitals, with the T and S dropping lower than the rest. Under it a pump shotgun crosses a fly rod drawn in outline. A whitetail buck stands at the left, a pheasant flies up in the middle and a trout bends at the right. The animals are solid shapes, so the whole crest reads clearly at a distance.

Your season splits between a deer stand and a trout stream, so give the crest to the cooler that goes to both the lake and the field. Set it on the side panel, the word across the top, where it faces out in the truck bed.

Before it goes on glass

Keep any decal off the windshield. On the rear window, California, Texas and Florida tie a decal to outside mirrors on both sides, New York bars stickers its DMV commissioner has not authorized, and your own state may differ, so read its vehicle code.
