Where it fits

A rear window corner, a toolbox lid, a cooler side or a laptop lid. Any hard, smooth surface takes a decal: glass, paint, metal, hard plastic. Read how to apply a vinyl decal before it goes on.

How it goes on

  1. Wash the spot with soapy water, dry it, then wipe it with rubbing alcohol.
  2. Tape the decal across its middle, step back and check it sits level.
  3. Peel one half of the backing, press from the tape outward with a card, then do the other half.
  4. Peel the top sheet back on itself, slowly and close to the surface.

About this design

Forty caliber, plain and round

Two oval rings frame a solid inner oval, and ".40" is cut through it in rounded numerals, the open 4 and tall 0 sitting behind a round dot. Nothing else is in the oval. Because the numbers are holes in a filled shape, they take on the color of your paint or glass, and the contrast carries well across a parking lot.

Euro ovals have always lived on tailgates and bumpers, and this one works there too. If you carry a pistol in this caliber, try it on the face of your range bag instead. Placed upright on a hard case, it stays easy to read from the bench.

Before it goes on glass

Keep any decal off the windshield. On the rear window, California, Texas and Florida tie a decal to outside mirrors on both sides, New York bars stickers its DMV commissioner has not authorized, and your own state may differ, so read its vehicle code.
