Where it fits
Where it fits
A rear window corner, a toolbox lid, a cooler side or a laptop lid. Any hard, smooth surface takes a decal: glass, paint, metal, hard plastic. Read how to apply a vinyl decal before it goes on.
How it goes on
How it goes on
- Wash the spot with soapy water, dry it, then wipe it with rubbing alcohol.
- Tape the decal across its middle, step back and check it sits level.
- Peel one half of the backing, press from the tape outward with a card, then do the other half.
- Peel the top sheet back on itself, slowly and close to the surface.
About this design
A gator with its tail curled under

Viewed from above at an angle, an alligator crawls to the right with its long snout ahead and feet splayed to both sides. The tail sweeps back and curls under the body in a wide hook. A row of small ridges runs along the back and down the tail. The whole animal is one solid shape, so the C of the body and tail reads clearly from far away.
Bayou trucks and jon boats both suit this gator. On a vehicle, keep the snout pointing forward so it crawls the way you drive, and on a tackle box keep it level along the lid. Anglers in the South will recognize the curl of the tail.

Before it goes on glass
Keep any decal off the windshield. On the rear window, California, Texas and Florida tie a decal to outside mirrors on both sides, New York bars stickers its DMV commissioner has not authorized, and your own state may differ, so read its vehicle code.
