Where it fits

Along the bottom of a rear window, a bumper, a tailgate or the top of a cargo door. Any hard, smooth surface takes a decal: glass, paint, metal, hard plastic. Read how to apply a vinyl decal before it goes on.

How it goes on

  1. Wash the spot with soapy water, dry it, then wipe it with rubbing alcohol.
  2. Tape the decal across its middle, step back and check it sits level.
  3. Peel one half of the backing, press from the tape outward with a card, then do the other half.
  4. Peel the top sheet back on itself, slowly and close to the surface.

About this design

Born again, written as math

Bold sans-serif letters spell "(Born)²" with the word inside a pair of tall curved parentheses and a small 2 set high outside the closing bracket, the way an exponent sits in algebra. The B, o, r and n are heavy and round, with clean counters. From a distance the brackets and the raised 2 carry the idea on their own.

A math way to say born again, set low on your rear window: if you know the phrase you smile at the light, and if you do not, you ask about it. Either way it can start a good conversation in a church parking lot.

Before it goes on glass

Keep any decal off the windshield. On the rear window, California, Texas and Florida tie a decal to outside mirrors on both sides, New York bars stickers its DMV commissioner has not authorized, and your own state may differ, so read its vehicle code.
