Where it fits

Along the bottom of a rear window, a bumper, a tailgate or the top of a cargo door. Any hard, smooth surface takes a decal: glass, paint, metal, hard plastic. Read how to apply a vinyl decal before it goes on.

How it goes on

  1. Wash the spot with soapy water, dry it, then wipe it with rubbing alcohol.
  2. Tape the decal across its middle, step back and check it sits level.
  3. Peel one half of the backing, press from the tape outward with a card, then do the other half.
  4. Peel the top sheet back on itself, slowly and close to the surface.

About this design

A name and a heart in rounded letters

A capital I with blocky serifs stands at the left, then a full solid heart, then the name in rounded, slightly uneven hand-drawn letters with a dotted i. Together they read "I ♥ Aiden" as one short line. Every stroke is thick and solid, so the heart and the name read clearly from the next lane over, with no hairline parts to lose.

Aiden's name belongs where the family sees it every morning: centered on the tailgate, reading level with the bed. Grandparents may want it for their own cars, and a sibling might pick the bumper. Only the letters and the heart are vinyl, so your paint shows between them.

Before it goes on glass

Keep any decal off the windshield. On the rear window, California, Texas and Florida tie a decal to outside mirrors on both sides, New York bars stickers its DMV commissioner has not authorized, and your own state may differ, so read its vehicle code.
